The Process

02. Meeting

Why a meeting?

Think of it more as a conversation.

A personal one-on-one meeting may sound a little overwhelming but it is an essential part of the estate planning process. First, the conversation we have with you will help us explain the array of different documents commonly included in an estate plan. Second, we can use our meeting to learn more about you so we can tailor our services to fit your needs. Finally, the meeting can ease and alleviate any worries or concerns you may have had prior to the meeting. Past clients have expressed how much better they felt after having learned about the process.

What to expect.

Clients may feel intimidated or overwhelmed by the thought of having to sit down to talk about their estate. Many have avoided estate planning for this reason alone. We want to alleviate as much stress or tension this process may cause by telling you what you should expect from this meeting. Note: Each person and family is different and the conversations seldom follow the same path. We like to let our conversations progress organically. The easier it is for you to talk with us, the better we can serve you. The following is just a general rule to guide you through a sample conversation.

  1. We will start by getting to know each other with an informal conversation. The more we learn about you, the better we can serve you.

  2. This conversation will be followed by a thorough explanation of all the documents and tools you have at your disposal.

  3. We can then explain how we plan to apply those documents to meet your needs.

  4. Finally, we sum up the meeting by outlining your goals for your estate.

Setting an appointment, time and location.

Setting an appointment is easy. Once you finish your intake form, we will contact you to setup an appointment. Appointment times are available between 9 AM EST to 6 PM EST but later times may be arranged for special cases. Because we are currently a virtual firm, we have two different options for meeting locations:

  1. we are available to meet at the clients residence for their convenience or

  2. we have access to a network of private conference rooms around the South Florida region available for us to reserve.

We will confirm all the details and your preferences before setting up the appointment.

Once we have completed our initial meeting, we will then enter the Draft Prep and Draft Review Process.
